Join the Latin America Solidarity Centre, PBI Ireland, Comhlamh and Front Line Defenders to remember Berta Cáceres, one year after her killing.
Berta was killed in her home in rural Honduras on 2 March 2016, most likely in retaliation for her work opposing the hydroelectric dam which was to built on her community’s land by the DESA company. She was a Lenca indigenous woman who co-founded COPINH, an organisation which has been defending the territory and rights of the Lenca people for over twenty years.
